Specialisms

Jenna Ide is a pragmatic and trusted employment lawyer with extensive experience advising both employers and individuals on the full spectrum of workplace matters.

She is particularly known for her work as a leading neurodiversity discrimination lawyer, and for her strong track record representing clients in the Employment Tribunal. Clients value Jenna’s clear advice, sound judgement and ability to navigate complex workplace issues with focus and assurance.

A key focus of Jenna’s practice is supporting neurodivergent individuals and helping organisations create inclusive, legally compliant workplaces. She regularly advises on reasonable adjustments, policy development and inclusive practices relating to conditions such as autism, ADHD and dyslexia. She also frequently speaks about neurodiversity in the workplace to HR teams and leadership groups.

Her broader practice includes advice on disciplinary and grievance processes, redundancy, restructures, contract reviews, settlement agreements and restrictive covenants.

Experience & approach

Jenna works with a wide range of clients – from large employers and HR teams to directors and employees navigating difficult transitions at work. Her calm, supportive and clear approach is valued by clients facing both contentious and sensitive situations.

Jenna has a particular strength in supporting neurodivergent clients. She takes a thoughtful, tailored approach that recognises the additional stress and barriers neurodivergent individuals may face when navigating legal processes. Her ability to explain complex issues clearly and adapt her communication style ensures that clients feel understood and supported at every stage.

Her approach combines legal precision with emotional intelligence – whether supporting a neurodivergent employee through a workplace dispute or guiding a business through an investigation or restructure, she remains focused, responsive and solution-driven throughout.

Jenna graduated from Merton College, Oxford University in 2007 with a BA (Hons) in Jurisprudence. She completed her training contract at Macfarlanes in London and qualified as a solicitor in September 2011.

Notable work

  • Acted in the widely reported Starbucks dyslexia discrimination case, representing an employee disciplined after workplace errors linked to her disability. Jenna successfully brought a disability discrimination claim, with the tribunal finding that Starbucks had failed to make reasonable adjustments for her dyslexia. The case brought national attention to the legal duties owed to neurodivergent staff and remains a landmark decision in this area.
  • Negotiated favourable settlement packages for employees across a range of sectors often involving complex bonus arrangements, share options and post-termination restrictions.
  • Secured the strike-out of an employment tribunal claim on behalf of a major infrastructure company, saving time, cost and reputational risk.
