Specialisms

Gabriel Cooke is an employment solicitor who advises employees on a wide range of workplace issues, including disciplinary and grievance procedures, redundancy, settlement agreements, discrimination, whistleblowing and unfair dismissal claims. He also has experience of employment law issues arising from corporate transactions.

Gabriel understands that workplace disputes can be both professionally and personally challenging. He works closely with clients to help them understand their legal position, identify the outcomes they want to achieve and navigate the process with confidence.

Approach

Gabriel is known for his clear, concise and pragmatic approach. He takes the time to understand each client's circumstances and objectives, explains legal issues in straightforward terms and focuses on achieving the best possible outcome.

Although he is comfortable supporting clients through formal proceedings where necessary, Gabriel believes many disputes are best resolved through constructive negotiation and early resolution. His experience working with a broad range of clients has helped him develop a practical, commercially aware approach to employment disputes.

Experience

Gabriel joined Thomas Mansfield Employment Law in 2026 after qualifying as a solicitor.

Before qualifying, he completed a training contract with a well-known London law firm, gaining experience in corporate and commercial law, commercial property, dispute resolution and employment law. During this time, he worked with both employer and employee clients on a variety of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

Gabriel holds a BA (Hons) in Philosophy from the University of Nottingham and completed both his Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) at The University of Law.
